July 2008: Writer's Retreats & Conferences

Suggestions: Focus on reviews of various retreats/conferences,
interviews with retreat/conference founders, how to land and make a
successful speech at a conference, how to network conferences
successfully - and suggestions on marketing materials to do so, making
the most out of your writing time at a retreat, and anything else you
think we'll love.

Deadline: May 15, 2008.

August 2008: Personal Writing

Suggestions: How to maintain a journal-writing plan and topics/prompts
to inspire journal writing, crafting/outlining a memoir, writing as
therapy, interviews with successful memoir writers, poetry, personal
essays for anthologies, live journaling/blogging as promotion,
epistolary novel writing (novels in the form of letters or emails),
and... get creative!

Deadline: June 17, 2008.

Columns, Word Counts and Pay Rates:

Twenty Questions: $50
How 2 (1,500 - 2,000 Words): $75
Inspiration (1,500 - 2,000 Words): $75
Feature Interviews (up to 3,000 Words): $75
Feature Articles (up to 3,000 Words): $150
