Answers to questions about payment sent by WritersWeekly to the job poster:

"They are contractors, not employees. Pay can vary by experience and as
each job allows for room for profits. Hourly can range from $20 to $40. Per
word starts at around .11 cents. Sometimes total price is agreed upon at
beginning when projects are pretty cut-and-dry, easier to predict. But I
try and stay away from set fees as much as possible and usually walk away from
most because the client is more interested in a bargain than a quality
book.

These are at the low end. The larger books allow for much better rates as
well. And believe me, if I find writers of repute of great ability, then
we are talking about high end pay for high end work. In all, the entire
essence of the relationship is one of agreement. A project is looked at and rates
are agreed upon and everyone is happy. These are projects where writers
have no overhead for promotion and marketing efforts. They are handed projects
ready to roll.
