Has anybody worked as a freelance writer for Team Double Click? I'm wanting to find out about anyone's experience with them. Here's the scoop. They say they are contacted by clients interested in using their writing services. Team Double Click then assigns one of the writer's from a "pool of writers" it maintains to do contact the client to do the job.

Team Double Click says, " We are not your typical freelance opportunity company, in that we work for real clients. Any work you perform on behalf of Team Double Click will be for one of our clients. All work that you would perform for Double Click is on a contract basis."

I'd be interested also in any writer's experience with them regarding payment through Pay Pal, which is how they pay their writers. Has anyone out there used PayPal? If so, what was your experience with it?

thx
Don

I have had nothing but good experiences with PayPal. I use it fairly extensively, and have had an account for several years now. See my comments under "Why I don't use PayPal" for more detail.

Hi, I've been working with Team Double Click for several months now. Their business is growing rapidly and their call for freelancers is authentic. They are prompt to pay, and they do use PayPal. They're great to work with. I haven't had any problems whatsoever.

PayPal is a free service, doesn't cost you anything to sign up. I have heard in other groups that I participate in regarding problems people have had with PayPal, but the majority of those problems have been with people who keep large sums of money in their accounts. The two things I've heard is that 1) there is a withdrawal limit of $500. This is easily rectified by requesting this limit to be lifted. And 2) passwords or security codes are forgotten or lost and it's a lot of red tape to get back to access your account.

As far as Team Double Click, they are legitimate, and a great Team to be a part of.

I've recently begun working for Team DoubleClick and have had nothing but positive experiences. The company is run by dedicated professionals who are kind and responsive to the needs of their writers. As for PayPal, it works very well... and is much faster than having to wait for a check.

I have worked for Team Double Click for a few months now and love it. It is a professional place to work with and they are easy going. I like the fact that you get to talk to real people and not just an answering service. I also enjoy using paypal, I have not had any problems with them. I hope that this helps you out in your inquiry about Team Double Click.

Hello there,

I very recently started doing work for Double Click, and I've found the experience with them to be wonderful and professional.

With respect to the actual technical working relationship, I spent the last few years working as a Contract Manager (while i'm here: lost, one personality, circa a few years ago), and in my experiences, the contractual route that Doube Click is taking is very appropriate: there is no employer/employee relationship in the sense one is 'managed', and there is a non-disclosure/non-compete clause to protect the integrity of the relationship and help avoid potentially evil misunderstandings. It was very comforting for me to note that Double Click had these contractual processes in place as a matter of policy.

As for PayPal, I have an account hooked up to my Visa (for the occasional eBay binge), and I've never experienced any problems with the service. I completed my first project with Double Click on September 27th, was invited to send an invoice the same day, and was paid via PayPal on the 28th.

As an added bonus, I'm Canadian, too, and the payment is in US funds ;).

Cheers and good luck.

Hi

I'm a UK writer, and recently began doing some work for Team Doubleclick. I have found them to be professional at all times, and a pleasure to work with. There is nothing bad I can say about this company, and I encourage freelancers to apply to them. They pay very promptly (in fact, I've been paid BEFORE I even finished the work), and I've had no problems with receiving my payments through paypal. I'm really pleased that I began undertaking writing assignments for them, and they are always working hard to find new projects for their freelancers. :D

I just started working with Team Double Click. The communication with them is great and I have no complaints. It's only my first week with them and I have already recieved an assignment. It's transcription, so it's not my most favorite thing to do, but it was my choice to take it or not. Plus, being a fulltime freelancer, I don't mind doing things like this to rake in a little bit more money. Plus it will give me an opportunity to build a better working relationship with the company. And to me, that's what is most important of all.

For those of you currently working with Team Double Click, did you make any modifications to their standing contractors agreement? It looked pretty standard to me, and I signed it as is, but I just wanted to see if anybody else had comments.

TIA.

I've probably overlooked this information on their site, but can anyone tell me if they prefer to receive a resume as an attachment, or within the body of an email?

I registered some time last year with Double Click and despite my track record as a national journalist I have received no jobs. I had problems opening an account with PayPal and decided not to pursue it. My bank advised me never to give my pin number to anyone, particularly over the net. I received DC's newsletter but stopped that after a while as I found the tone towards their critics depressing. Some jobs given to writers didn't work out as clients seemed to be letting them down. I can't get rid of the Double Click and Fast Click cookies that follow my movements when surfing, plus Double Click seem to have placed adverts on my home page. I don't know if it's the same company but they have the same name and whoever they are seem to be involved in advertising. I'm glad the writers who've posted here got work so fast but I don't know how they did that. They certainly sound like good adverts for Double Click anyhow.

I am a freelance writer and signed up with TeamDoubleClick late last year. While I get plenty of "we're getting ready to ramp up soon, buy our book in the meantime" emails I've yet to get any assignments.
