This is such a difficult subject to broach, but adult survivors must be heard to pave the way for child survivors.

My research has indicated that childhood sexual abuse has an impact on education. I am compiling research for an upcoming book and have a survey available if you care to participate.

Thanks so much.

"impact on education" -- that is very broad. Could you be more specific? Are you talking about the impact because the survivor has post traumatic stress disorder or another trauma disorder and cannot focus and concentrate and so education is impaired? Are you talking about absenteeism because of abuse and the child's reluctance to go to school? Are you talking about children who are removed from the home due to abuse and then the emotional turmoil of that on their school work?

Seeking more info.

My research has included learning difficulties, which encompasses paying attention, retention of knowledge, worries with foster home system, PTSD, and more.

I am trying to hone it down with the survey and with stories I have been sent. Would you like to email me for more information or to receive the survey?

I'm curious about what, exactly, you're looking for re: trouble in education. I did well in elementary, junior high; moderately well in high school; and excelled in college, but NOT without major emotional health problems!

I'd like more information, first, then I can let you know about completing the survey.

I can honestly say I vouch for the fact that it affects education. Although I feel that I am a highly intelligent person, the effects of the abuse affected my whole schooling.
The inability to concentrate or fit in and self esteem issues lingered through out all of highschool and to this day.
How does one go about doing these interviews?

My former friend was abused by her grandfather who later died. She never fully recovered and would always flit about from one thing to another searching for peace inside. She started counselling but couldn't finish it because it go too hard for her. She made her kids filt from one thing to the other and I found this partiuclarly unsettling to watch.
