Can you update one last time?

I wanted to respond to the one post:

I just recently changed my blog after the last day of class (end of April) and it didn't say I had a degree (on my blog nor my resume) until that time when I actually completed all the coursework. I NEVER have told a client I had a degree when I didn't, for the most part, no one even requires that for the work we do nor asks if you have a degree. But once again, it was only updated after I finished my 146 credits of coursework within the 12 semesters of work I have completed.

Thanks again.

So, you did just acquire your degree?

What was the date you obtained your degree?

Yes, I have done freelance since age 12 for PBS as well as other
websites/organizations. I decided to get a degree merely just to learn, like
I said, I haven't had any client, both present or past, ask me if I had a
degree, so ultimately it wasn't entirely needed for my success in this field
as many other professionals know. I have earned nearly 146 credits (I think
maybe a bit more) in which nearly 70 (estimate) is Journalism/Writing.

Thanks for updating. I'm on vacation so getting back to you fast isn't
feasible for the next week, if you have anything else to ask, feel free to
send and I'll get back to you in a week.

Thanks.

Best,
J. Mousseau

You still haven't answered my question. On exactly what date did you
obtain your degree?

Hi Angela,

I have been waiting weeks for my registration to get approved on your
website so I could add to the forum topic about JESSICA MOUSSEAU, and so
far have gotten no response to having my registration validated. I am
requesting that this email be posted on that website as soon as possible
since I cannot reply directly myself to the thread.

I have worked for Jessica for over a year. I started working for her
when she had an overload of work and needed writers desperately to help
her meet some project deadlines. Even under those circumstances she
would not let me accept even one assignment until I had signed a
contract with her and faxed it back. I cannot imagine a situation where
she would allow someone to work without a contract.

I have never had Jessica not pay promptly and fully for work I’ve
completed to the clients satisfaction. I work with several similar SEO
focused companies and Jessica pays, by far, more promptly than any of
them. She is always up front about when to expect payment and has never
missed or been late making those payments. I have never had an exchange
with her that was anything but friendly and professional. To say I am
surprised by the allegations against her is an understatement. I enjoy
working for Jessica very much and hope to continue my employment with
her in the future.

Having done this work for several years, and under many different bosses
(both good and bad), I can definitely say that I have not seen Jessica
run her business in a way that has surprised me or seemed unusual. I can
only think that the writer involved who has the complaint is not
familiar with this kind of work. The deadlines are strict, a fast
turnaround is expected, and work that does not meet the client’s
specifications cannot be tolerated. Clients want to work done correctly
the first time around, many will not keep re-sending work back to be
fixed. Jessica is always clear about what the clients expectations are
and anytime I’ve had a question about those specifications she is always
easy to reach and helpful in answering my questions. Having helped out
at another similar company editing poorly done work handed in by others
I am well aware that writers re-copying their own work is an enormous
problem. It is the single biggest complaint I have heard from the people
I work for that do this type of work. Clients pay for bulk work, but
they also expect original work, they will not tolerate work not done to
their specifications. They certainly won’t pay for it.

I have seen nothing said on your website that makes me regret working
with Jessica or makes me think twice about accepting projects from her
again in the future. Frankly, I find it a bit disgusting that you are so
quick to throw accusations at Jessica, along with her contact info, but
hide whomever the complainant is. I would think that there are as many
employers out there who need to be warned about a writer who simply
repeats their own work rather then doing the work as expected as there
are writers who need to be ‘warned’ that if you recopy your own work a
client will not pay you, or the company you work through, for it.

Author of: Get In Or Get Out - Becoming A Successful Professional Writer

WritersWeekly.com has received ANOTHER complaint about:

Jessica Mousseau / JM Writing & Editing /
jessicamousseau.com / Co-founder and Editor: thinkgirl.net /
Author of Get In Or Get Out - Becoming A Successful Professional Writer

WritersWeekly.com is a publication that publishes information for
and about freelance writers. The publication is the
largest-circulation freelance writing ezine in the world.

As part of that information, WritersWeekly.com publishes a Warnings
section on its website and in its newsletter. This warning section
contains reports about publications that are unprofessional in
dealing with writers, haven't paid writers money that is owed to
them, who have not abided by their contracts, or who have unfair
contract terms. These reports are used by WritersWeekly.com's
subscribers
to decide which publications they should and should not work with.

Your firm has been submitted to us for inclusion in the
WritersWeekly.com Whispers and Warnings section.

Step one of our investigation of this report is to gather all
relevant correspondence between your publication and the person
submitting the complaint so that we can piece together that person's
side of the story. Step one of our investigation has been completed.

-------------
THE COMPLAINT
-------------

[LP] (name not published here but was, of course, provided to Jessica Mousseau) alleges you owe her $160.00. See complete allegation under
my signature. Please refer to the August 25th email sent by you to (LP)
where you clearly offered payment of $240.00.

-----------------
WHAT HAPPENS NEXT
-----------------

The second step in our investigation is to send this communication
to your firm to get its side of the story. If you have evidence
disputing these allegations, or would like to make your own
statement about these allegations for publication in our report, please
email angela@writersweekly.com within two business days.

***All correspondence for our investigations must be in writing and
is subject to publication.***

If you do owe this person money, we strongly suggest you read
this article before responding:
http://www.writersweekly.com/the_latest ... 32006.html

Our report on your firm is scheduled for inclusion in our
publication next Wednesday, though it may appear in our Whispers and
Warnings forum before that time.

If there is no response to these allegations, WritersWeekly.com will
still publish this complaint, but our readers will not be able to
read your side of the story.

We appreciate your prompt response in this matter.

I am writing in response to the Jessica Moussea. I also have been taken
advantage of. Here are copies of emails between her and I about a very
large project I did for her. If you need to have the originals forwarded
to you I can do that, just let me know. I also
signed a contract with Jessica and that is on the bottom of this email.
Feel free to also print this if you feel it will benefit anyone else.

Thanks for the great job you do.

4 lessons. 8000 words. ) *referencing dontbreakup.com*

The 20,000 word book should be of the same quality of the book at
dontbreakup.com

To access that book, go to
http://www.dontbreakup.com/members/index.htmland user lover pass 2000.
I'm not trying to plagiarize or even re-word their book, just using as a
guideline for quality of my book. My site for the book is
www.getbackwithyourex.com <http://www.getbackwithyourex.com>, it will be
blank until I get the book, but that is the domain.

You can't use their table of contents nor their stories, and have to
make your own from scratch.

YOU WOULD NEED TO CREATE A TABLE OF CONTENTS AND IT WOULD BE APPROVED
THEN HE WOULD WANT THE BOOK. There is no strict deadline on it ---
probably a few weeks would be fine.

Let me know!!!

Why was I only paid 80.00 for the ebook? It was turned in on Friday like
I told you it would be. It was bad enough to be cut down at all but that
much is offensive. All of the work was sent to you more than once to be
sure you got it.

20% off (which is when work is late, and the agreement all writers were
sent months ago) is $20.

Please go back through your emails, I was told it was going to be $240
for the entire project. That is the only reason that I did the project.

When I reviewed the assignment I write out in paper, I see that I
assigned it to you for $100 --and when I was quoting it when we were
Emailing back this week, I inaccurately said $200 ---- that was never
the case..... Hence why you received $80.

Thank you.

I agreed to do the assignment for $240. Changing the price to $80 is not
fair.

He wasn't even paying a total of $240 for the work.

That's why I'm saying, when I said $200 the other day I was thinking of
someone else's project... It says $100 on my agreement sheet here.....
