MISSION & VOICE: ISLANDS is the global authority on island destinations:
we are the voice and premiere magazine for the island traveler looking
for the ultimate escape. € We seek out the essence of what makes islands so
alluring. In our magazine, on our website and across media platforms,
we take our readers on adventures they have always dreamed of and give them
the tools to help them live those dreams. € In everything we do, we evoke a
sense of place and passion for that place. We are authentic, exotic,
useful, inspiring and always fun. We connect people with their singular passion
for travel.

Types of destinations we cover: We focus primarily on Hawaii, the
Caribbean, the South Pacific and exotic tropical; each of these regions has a
couple items in every issue in DISCOVER. We try to cover temperate, U.S. and
European islands when it is seasonally appropriate to do so or when
something quite newsworthy or unique is happening. And we love wildcard
destinations -- islands less-traveled and exotic are perfect for this
section. But please remember that we are trying to sell the island dream,
so those destinations that are very urban or very cold will rarely run,
except in extenuating circumstances. We also tend to stay away from lake, delta
or river islands, and we rarely cover Ireland, England, Australia,
Singapore and Japan -- unless we are covering islands off these coasts.
