Have no fear! Zubbycat is here!!

Let's see ... what would you like? I have the ever-present fresh batch of chocolate chip cookies (the secret is replacing half the sugar with syrup), or there are the gingersnaps, or I have few double chocolate chocolate chip with macadamia nuts that I brought for wendy.

Boy, this could turn into a party!!

zubbycat :D

Zounds! This diabetic is having trouble with his gastric juices.
Will you please quit with the cookies?
Cheers,

Ah! But you can have some too! These are virtual cookies. Non-fattening, non-sugar-problem-causing, but durn tasty!

zubbycat ;-)

I am Kate Copsey, but go by Katy or Kate, or even kt.
We are currently in Pittsburgh, Pa, but have lived in several states over the past 20 yrs courtesy corporate America.
We have 4 boys - 2 college age and 2 elementary, which I think gives me enough background to enter into the family/child rearing/education writing arena. Our youngest has Apsergers, which also leads me into articles on special needs and learning problems etc. etc. (I hope).
I currently write regular articles for a newpaper in N. Virginia and the Pittsburgh Post Gazette, on gardening topics. I did my first national magazine article 2 months ago and have a second due at the end of September.
I also have a book contract that was supposed to have the draft finished by spring 05, but is nowhere close to that. I found writing a 1500 word article vs. a book is a very different scenario. I was doing way to much research (more than for a Masters thesis) and that was just for the first chapter!
I hope to learn and benefit from this forum, and perhaps help occasionally.

I thought I'd get this little guy to help you, Daoine. Image Isn't he cute?

Welcome Katy. Welcome anyone else who's new. Cookies all round I'd say! Also, you might like to wander over to Willow's Bar and join us there for a drink and a chat.

Welcome, Katy! (from someone else who lives at the end of a circle). My son has a similar neurological condition, and my daughter has JRA (juvenile rheumatoid arthritis) and I'd be VERY interested in knowing how you broke into writing for the special needs market. I have a master's in special ed., but this is one area I've never written for. Come on over to Willow's bar, and let's chat!

Hi - I'm a low-country SC native, though I've lived all over since I went to college and recently transplanted to New England (brrrrr!) as my honey was homesick for, of all things, weather.

I do a lot of freelance articles for magazines, businesses and research publications to pay the bills. My true love is writing fiction and poetry, however; and I have had several poems and a few short stories published over the years.
