I'm interested in interviewing people on their experiences , positive or negative, with casino gambling. I'm also interested in interviewing anyone who developed an addiction to the casinos. I will forward a few questions via email. Thank you.

I'm a fellow writer who happens to be married to an engineer who has worked every side of the gaming experience, from writing the code to running a casino. Currently, he owns his own gaming firm, Onyx Gaming, producing not only the code for slots, but also manufacturing custom machines from the ground up. A boutique gaming firm, he specializes in the foreign market and Skill Stop Slot machines. A leader in the field, he personally has a number of patented products for the gaming industry, most notably the Cashless Cashiering System. With his games placed in casinos throughout the Latin American market, he's known for providing exciting games at fair prices that deliver an entertainment value unrivaled by many others.

If you need information regarding the industry, are interested in checking some facts, or simply want a different take, feel free to give Chris Lawcock a call at 602-418-6399.

Sincerely,

Christa Burlakoff-Lawcock
Freelance Author (and the other half of Onyx Engineering and Development and Onyx Gaming, LLC)

PS: Why foreign markets? The US market is dominated by four companies: Bally, IGT, Williams, and Atronix. While all are great companies, the reality is, to place a new product is nearly impossible, their clout is so large; and the US gaming regulations are so tightly controlled and the process so complex, it takes years to get approved and multi, multi millions for the process. David and Goliath had nothing on the Vegas gaming commission, let alone the casinos! While foreign countries have their own gaming regulations, the reality is, certain markets are more open to outside gamers, and with that comes more exciting games, a more interesting gaming environment, and the opportunity for players and casino owners to truly have something for everyone.

Casino Gambling:

I've spent maybe a total of 5 hours of my life gambling. Never cared for it. Mostly seemed a waste of time and money (even if I did win over $150 my first time at the one deck Black Jack table. . . I think 5 deck is bogus.

Most casinos smell too bad, or have too much smoke.

Bottom line:My favorite quote related to casinos:

What's the only way to make money at a casino? Answer: Own it.

I'd rather be skiing, hiking, diving, biking, climbing, horseback riding. . .
