PROCEED WITH CAUTION! A friend of mine lost some money to this agency. I'm not sure of all the details...he was too embarrassed to share much. I did, however, see the agency brochure...after the fact. I wish I would've seen it before he sent the money in. The brochure was quite poorly produced and looked like it was from the 80s. With today's desktop publishing capabilities, one could create a sleeker brochure in a half hour! Ultimately, I think my friend was just so excited to get a response from a literary agent that he jumped at the chance...and eagerly sent a check, hoping for the best.
As a librarian, I have access to Bowker's Books in Print, a wonderful database of all in-print books and publishers. You may want to check if your local library subscribes to this database. I would suggest you research the titles and publishing companies that the agency has worked with. Maybe with that information, you can better assess the client base.
My friend's negative experience might have been a fluke or distorted. Whatever you do, I wish you luck with your book.
