National legal publication seeks experienced freelance reporters for its news section. The ideal candidate possesses a journalism or English degree and professional experience producing source-based news articles. Knowledge of the legal industry is helpful.

Desired Skills:

- Degree in English, Writing, Journalism or related field

- Excellent writing skills

- Ability to identify, locate and interview sources

- Strong work ethic and the ability to work under minimal supervision

- Ability to produce stories quickly and under tight deadlines

- Knowledge of Associated Press style

- Comfortable using the Internet for research and fact-checking

- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail

- Familiarity with legal industry and paralegal profession preferred

- Professional experience working in a daily news cycle is a plus

Compensation: $75 per story
