I'm a freelancer currently working on an article for parents or caregivers who are preparing to have weight loss surgery. The article will offer practical tips on things they can do pre-surgery to help their household run smoothly during their recovery period (like making meals for the rest of your family in advance and freezing them, or lining up volunteers to walk the dog). I'm looking for advice from people who have been through this experience--what was helpful to you? What were you glad that you did, and what (if anything) would you have done differently?
(I know I mentioned parents, but you don't have to be caring for children to respond. :-) You could also be someone who lives with an aging family member, has pets, has a spouse or partner who doesn't know how to cook...and so on! I'd love to hear from anyone who found creative ways to deal with covering their caregiver responsibilities while recovering from weight loss surgery.)
If you're interested in sharing your advice, please contact me at firstname.lastname@example.org
. (And if you have questions or would like further information about me or the article, please don't hesitate to contact me as well!) I'll need to hear from you by Monday, February 14, 2011.
