Dear Ms. Angela Hoy:
I am writing this e-mail from Global Photo Associates, TV production company in Los Angeles.
We are currently working on a Japanese TV news documentary program on book publishing industry to be aired in Japan.
In this program we will cover rapidly-changing publishing industry with e-book in US.
For this documentary segment we would like to have interviews to
successful e-book authors and literary agents about the contracting between writers, agents and publishers.
In US the contracting with writers is straight-forward, foreseeing, detail, and clear, which is very different from ambiguous contracting in Japan.
In the program we would like to analyze why e-book publishing did go well in US and did notin Japan. It is largely attributed to contracting system difference, along with the distribution system.
It is said that the most contracts in the past in US already include the item regarding e-book publishing.
We will greatly appreciated, if you will refer some writers and some agents who are located in Los Angeles or San Diego for this interview. We are located in Torrance, so if there is someone nearby, it will be great.
The following is the program information.
