I have had deja vu episodes several times, and at least once it was connected to a death. I had dreamed or daydreamed about picking up the phone, sitting at the kitchen table, and seeing a petal fall off the rose in the vase there, and finding out someone had died at that moment and trying to find the right words to say.
It happened, exactly as I had seen it, and I remembered before the rose petal fell off. I think it helped me prepare, since this was the first time I had ever been directly told of a death. I did not, thankfully, say the inane and inappropriate, "You're kidding," which a recent Dear Abby column had been about.
Anyone else actually get some use out of deja vu? Like knowing the consequences of a wrong decision in advance, and therefore choosing differently?
