There was a well-known online company i wrote for for a long time. It was generally a good experience. However, when a different company took it over, it became one aggravation after another. While I asked them a number of times to delete my account, no one complied, but they finally did so after I posted a complaint on their forum. I said i didn't think it was right for them to continue benefiting from my material when I didn't agree with their constant policy changes.

The issue: the company gives "page view bonuses" each month. As I had earned a few dollars before they deleted my account, do you think they owe me the bonus I earned last month? I emailed them about it, but naturally did not receive a response.

Hi starmom,
Assuming that last month's bonus didn't need to be retained in order to offset a previous overpayment or "advance," I would say that you should have received page view bonuses for as long as the company was benefiting from those page views, even after you had requested your account's deletion. (I'm also assuming that the agreement between a writer and the company would not relieve it of paying bonuses in such a situation.)

If you earned those dollars prior to your account deletion, by rights, they should send you the payment provided it shows as above their payment threshold. Lots of alternative revenue sharing options like bubblews, triond, hubpages... more than I can shake a stick at tbh.

Sorry, I guess I should have updated this thread-
they informed me since I cancelled my account before the end of the month, I was not entitled to the money I earned.

The site is Yahoo Contributor Network- and it has totally gone down the drain since they took it over from the original Associated Content.
