1) Finish Water Feature article
2) Write piece on Tarot and/or Sun Signs (1000 words)
3) Start piece on how to spot the signs of child molestation
4) Get next section of book started if not finished.

Oh lord...what am I getting myself into????

Okay, I'll go next. I'm keeping this list to short-term goals (as in the next three weeks) because we tend to live in a state of perpetual crisis in this house.

Write column for MIke's Writing Newsletter (due 6/16, but I'd like to have it done earlier)
Fill out final semester evaluations and get them in the mail
Finish critiques for my writer's group
Read and critique materials for next residency workshop
Write essay for Bechtel competition
Update my Website
Submit short stories
Start on next chapter of my novel

That should be enough to keep me busy! :)

I'm finishing a book on the Obama campaign (last chapter to be completed November 5th) for the educational market and starting a book on teen stress. Speaking of stress, school is out next week and my oldest son is graduating from high school!

Got to be specific or the goals don't get met. For example, 30 pages for Book in a Week breaks down like this:

*Steps for the quickest.blogbooktourguide.ever and added to Squidoo lens
* 10 pages for the orthodox church icon blog
* 5 pages for the Scotch Guardener blog
* 5-10 rural newspaper articles
* List of goals for next week

Oh, and finish reading two eBooks for reviews I need to post to Blog Book Tours.

My real goal is to get the little projects behind me, so I can focus on intense one-week projects. I have a languishing list as long as my arm!

I think I'll go back in at the end of the week and edit this post to report my successes.

Get all my gear ready, photo and camping, to cover vintage car road races next weekend for two assigned articles. I hope to actually get four articles out of it, including one business article and, just maybe, a flight mag article. That's three days of intense work, dragging this aging lump of fat around a 3-1/4 mile track (I'll cheat and rent a golf cart).

okay here goes:
have to clean the family room, plant the garden, take the cat back to the vet, chaperone my husband to his colonoscopy.....

Or did you mean our OTHER goals?

1. Find one new market and actually research it and come up with a pitch.
2. publish my ezines on time.
3. organize thoughts for a book proposal...okay, think about organizing my thoughts.

I'm such a work in progress...maybe I need a golf cart too, to maneuver around my thoughts.

Pam

This Week:

1) Work out 3 times (clears mind for writing). Twice. Too sore.
2) Finish assignment. 1/2 completed. Moved to next week.
3) Answer at least half my correspondence - 4 letters. Completed!
4) Write 2 new stories. Completed!
5) Find some contests to enter for June. Completed!

Of course, there's more that I can add after these are met, but these are the ones I will be accountable for here. Posting the other list would be shooting myself in the foot.

Geez, my goals for this week pale in comparison.

1. Keep working with the horse I have entered in a show on June 8.
2. Buy neatsfoot oil to clean the tack.
3. Find the missing leather halter he'll need for the showmanship class.
4. Oil the English bridle and saddle.
5. Kachaolin the Western saddle.
6. Saturday night pack lunches and drinks and chairs.
7. Hope it does not rain and my horse doesn't roll in mud overnight.
8. Get up early on June 8 to groom horse and trailer to the show.
9. Have fun at the show. Winning ribbons is not everything.

No writing goals for me this week. Just not into it when I've got to deal with old cranky pants who barely tolerates being inside a riding arena. But I always seem to get more writing accomplished when I don't put my goals down....

Great start.

It's now almost 1 p.m., time for lunch, and I've finished the rebuild of the text for a book (short, about 11,000 words) that somehow this lousy computer managed to 75% eat. Actually, it was the lousy MS Publisher program that did the gulping. I then discovered my satellite was up and working--it was down until 11 a.m. That let me download a different desktop publishing program without trying to resurrect Quark or Pagemaker. I hate both. I then re-checked my event schedule for the weekend and discovered my cart rental is about half what I thought it would be, so I'll put in my reservation for three days, instead of two, and shoot another 800 photos.

After lunch, and possibly a nap, I'll see about slipping the freshly rewritten text into a format and adding about 30 photos. Then convert the mess to a PDF and see what I have to do to start selling it. Oh, yeah. I have to call one publisher about possible work, probably around 2-3.

Tomorrow, buy a second deep cycle marine battery for powering gear at the track. Charge that. Check on what I need to set up a proper parallel circuit. That's it for tomorrow. We'll take a drive up on the Blue Ridge Parkway, maybe buy some Kaintucky Fried and eat in one of the picnic areas. Take the mutt and just goof off for the afternoon.

Goodness. Writing? What's that?

I can't believe how all encompassing just 2 things have been: training for the bike trek (less than 2 weeks to go - Aaaaaack!) and taking care of my mom after hand surgery (joint replacement).

Can somebody clone me...Please?

I desperately need to finish 2 of my half-heartedly begun Squidoo lenses: Finding Grace in a World of Guilt and Polymorphous Light Eruption.

I must update my homeschooling Squidoo group which has a large membership, but no substance.

I want to accomplish all these before we start school in September.

I really want to put some meat on my young adult novel. I'll be thrilled with a chapter a month, at this point.

I miss writing regularly in my blog, but that will start happening again after the Trek.

More immediate goals?

-Pick up my very exciting and MUCH lighter and peppier new bicycle tomorrow! Whoo-Hoo!!!!!

-Put a 120 miles on said new bike in the next 7 days.

-Sleep and Eat ALOT.

-Take my mom to the doctor tomorrow for her post surgery follow-up and hear him say, "Wow! You've healed up extraordinarliy quickly! I think you can now go back to doing all your regular activites!" (Not likely, but I can dream...)

Groovy, I'm fascinated by the fact that your hubby encouraged you to write, wanted you to write, blessed your writing. And now you're cycling. Was this a bit of reverse psychology on his part? I mean, would you be cycling 30 miles a day otherwise? I know only six other people in my entire life who actually do this sort of thing. None of them write either. I think there's some sort of conspiracy at work here. Just sayin'.
