Each month, you can find coupon codes online so that you can get a discount when buying domain names at NameCheap.com and GoDaddy.com.

I'm posting the coupon codes for December 2008 here, just as a convenience in case anyone is looking. Also, domain names are a great Christmas present!

(These are not affiliate links, by the way.)

WHITEXMAS (Discount: $9.29 New Domain Reg Down to Only $8.41)

    cjchea695 for $7.49 domain names
cjchea10 for 10% off your order
cjchea30 = $5 off on your order of $30 or more
cjchea50 = $10 off your order of $50 or more
cjchea75 = $15 off your order of $75 or more

Remember -- At NameCheap.com you get your privacy absolutely free! This means when someone looks up your web site at WhoIs.com or BetterWhoIs.com (or any other site that is design to list your name and contact info when someone types in a URL that you own), will NOT see your info. This is great, of course, to avoid spammers and the odd customer who will look you up online and decide to stop by your house at the most inconvenient time.

If you choose GoDaddy, watch out when you’re placing the order. They’re notorious for throwing a bunch of additional products and services into your shopping cart.

Also, the Internet marketing gurus that I’ve studied warn that GoDaddy is quick to take you offline if you’re accused of spamming, without even investigating. I’ve heard of situations where someone bought their domain name through GoDaddy but didn’t host their site there, they were accused of spam, and GoDaddy denied access to their domain name which meant their site (hosted elsewhere) was in trouble.
