(A person baby, not a book baby. Yet. But it's about time I birthed one of those too...)

Congrats to you and hubby! So, do you have an official due date?

Hugs,

Oh! Oh! I KNEW that's what you meant in that comment you left on my blog!

Woo-hoo! Congratulations to you and hubby!

March is a GREAT month for a birthday! (I should know. I've been having one at that time for the past 48 years).

I promise to not tell you any personal horror stories about my pregnancies, child birth experiences, or living with teenagers. I promise.

But I can tell you that I've raised one girl and two boys, and believe me, with the exception of the extra laundry required when you raise boys, they're much easier than girls.

Girls are fun, sweet, darling, sneaky, cunning, manipulative... little sweethearts. Boys are grubby, obvious, blatant, transparent (except for the parts caked in dirt) and easy to please.

Girls will pick your favorite flower out of the garden, then bat their long lashes at you until your heart melts. Boys yank that flower out of the ground, march right up to you and hand it over saying, "here, Mommy, this is for you."

Girls like to be clean (for the most part). Boys? Not so much.

And through all of that, every time you look at them you can't help but think your heart will burst with love. Even when your brain is saying, "now you know why some animals eat their young."

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!!
Yahoo! I think we need a party!
My daughter was born 20 March so shoot for that and they can share birthdays. I loved giving birth, but too, I was always a fan of Lucky Packets when I was a kid.I love the surprise of what comes out. If I wasn't such a chicken I could have been one of those women who have 14 kids.

Elsa enjoy everything. And my advice- be pregnant and give birth and be a mother- the way you want. Don't let people bully you. There seems to be this strange idea that all pregnant women are idiots and need to be bossed about. Don't let them. Enjoy.

(Karen- great words on the topic BTW)

You have plenty of years to enjoy them before you wish you could give them a lobotomy and cryonically freeze them until they are normal and 30 years old. Enjoy THOSE years!!
Congrats. Babies are fun....teens---well, see above....

Thanks so much everyone.

Lolo: Yes, I'm one of those women who intend to do everything my own way, which is why I have hired two private midwives rather than go the now "traditional" route of an obsetrician. It is going to cost me a fortune, but it is worth it. The money I earned for last year's online ventures will cover it.

LOL Ele!!!

Hubby is like a little boy with a Xmas present at the moment. We're both thrilled to bits. It was very carefully planned actually. We wanted to save up a deposit and buy a nice "family" home first (which we did), then this year we went on our pre-baby holiday and after that I started on the rubella/varicella immunity checks and went onto a prenatal supplement, cut down on the alcohol intake, and then we were ready to start trying. He was expecting it to take a good few months, so he was delighted by how quickly it happened.
