Woo-Hoo! I'm here and I'm going to celebrate the end of NaNoWriMo (a successful end, I might add), surviving yet another kidney stone, and a host of other challenges.
I started and now I'm the adviser for the D.I.Y. Book club (a writing club) at my school. The kids really like it, and I think we'll have something awesome to put together by the end of the year. I am lucky to have some very talented kids in that group. Unfortunately, two of them will be moving to high school in the fall. I hope they can find a way to meet up with others and form a group at their new school. They're a fun group, although discipline seems to be a problem as they are under the impression that since it's after school, they can act like animals. I think I finally convinced them that is not the case, but I had to threaten to disband the club in order to do it.
After a lot of thought regarding a series I've been working on that began with a NaNo project, I've decided to give the first book another go-over, finish the third, get the second edited and start submitting. Of course, this will put me in a state of panic and writing paralysis will set in and my brain will look at me and say, "huh?" I'm also giving self-publishing some consideration.
Tam and I are having all six kids over on the 17th of this month for a "Sibling Bake Off" and no, we're not baking any children. They're going to do a lot of baking for the holidays. We'll just be there to referee and offer recipe guidance. Clean up will be done by those who make the biggest mess or who do the least work. Refereeing is a lot of work, so that leaves Tam and I out of that part of it. :)
What's been keeping everyone else busy this year?
