Has any one heard of this group and tell me if they're reputable or not? I received an unsolicited email from them stating they were replying to my inquiry which I did not submit. From the link to their website www.floridapeachpublishing.com, they appear at first glance to be a vanity press. While I admit I want to get a publishing contract, I cannot afford to go with a vanity publisher where I'm going to pay out of pocket. Any information on this outfit would be appreciated. Thank you.

Legitimate publishers and agents almost never solicit material; they are overwhelmed with submissions. (The only exception they might make is for a self-published author who has marketed her work so successfully that she has become a gold mine.)

You can and always should check with Victoria Strauss of Writer Beware and Dave Kuzminski of Preditors & Editors before you do anything. A good general rule of thumb, however, is this: If they solicit you, you don't want them.

Also, spam mail is rarely good news for anyone but the spammer.
