WritersWeekly.com - Terms of use

By participating in this forum, you agree that you have read and understand the rules and forum description below:

In order to participate in this forum, we must know who you really are. We don't allow anonymous posts by just anybody here. Doing so permits abuse (and spam!), which degrades the quality of the entire forum. If you've ever participated on a regular basis on any forum, you've probably seen the kind of abuse we're trying to prevent. If you aren't willing to share your real contact information with us, you can't participate in the forum. This is for the protection of all our readers, including you.

If you'd like to join, you must email the following information to us at FORUM (at) WRITERSWEEKLY.COM:

  • your full name,
  • your business,
  • your website or the website of your employer (we require this for proof that you are who you say you are),
  • an email address that is not from a free service,
  • a statement about which forum item you were interested in posting to, and
  • your forum username (which you can set up by clicking on the link below labeled "I Agree to these terms and am over or exactly 18 years of age")

Your forum account will not be activated until you send us the above information.

We don't respond to people who register for the forum but fail to send us this information by email (because this tells us that person didn't bother to read or terms of participation). By enforcing these stringent enrollment requirements, we can provide a highly professional and friendly forum for our readers.

While the administrators and moderators of this forum will attempt to remove or edit any generally objectionable material as quickly as possible, it is impossible to review every message. Therefore you acknowledge that all posts made to these forums express the views and opinions of the author and not the administrators, moderators or webmaster (except for posts by these people) and hence will not be held liable.

You agree not to post any abusive, obscene, vulgar, slanderous, hateful, threatening, sexually-oriented or any other material that may violate any applicable laws. Doing so may lead to you being immediately and permanently banned (and your service provider being informed). The IP address of all posts is recorded to aid in enforcing these conditions. You agree that the webmaster, administrator and moderators of this forum have the right to remove, edit, move or close any topic at any time should they see fit. As a user you agree to any information you have entered above being stored in a database. While this information will not be disclosed to any third party without your consent the webmaster, administrator and moderators cannot be held responsible for any hacking attempt that may lead to the data being compromised.

WRITERSWEEKLY IS NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR POSTS

Considering the real-time nature of this forum, it is impossible for WritersWeekly to review messages or confirm the validity of information posted. We do not actively monitor the content of posted messages and are not responsible for any messages posted. We do not vouch for or warrant the accuracy of any message, and are not responsible for the contents of any message. The messages express the views of the author of the message, not necessarily the views of this forum or WritersWeekly.com, it's owners, employees and contractors. The 1996 Telecommunications Act protects access providers from liability for the unlawful acts of users (except in cases of copyright infringement or obscenity).

YOU ARE LEGALLY RESPONSIBLE FOR YOUR OWN POSTS

You agree, through your use of this service, that you will not use this forum to post any material which is knowingly false and/or defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, threatening, invasion of a person's privacy, or otherwise in violation of any law. The 1996 Telecommunications Act protects access providers from liability for the unlawful acts of users. This means you could be sued directly for your posts.

IF YOU POST NEGATIVE EXPERIENCES ABOUT A COMPANY OR INDIVIDUAL, YOU HAVE TO REVEAL YOUR NAME

You remain solely responsible for the content of your messages, and you agree to indemnify and hold harmless WritersWeekly.com, and their owners, employees and contractors with respect to any claim based upon transmission of your message(s). We reserve the right to reveal your identity in the event of a complaint or legal action arising from any message posted by you. In short, if you're not willing to be identified, don't post messages about any person or firm here. If you have dealings with that person or firm, you must identify yourself to allow the firm to research the complaint before posting a rebuttal.

When posting your opinion about a firm, it must be obvious that your words are your opinion and not stated as fact.

NEW FORUM USERS MUST PROVIDE US WITH A REAL EMAIL ADDRESS

For the safety of all forum users, we no longer allow people using free email addresses to use the forum. You must provide us with a real name, a real email address, and proof of who you are (website address, links to your articles online, etc.) Applicants submitting free or false email addresses will not be contacted and their registration for the forum will not be activated.

NO SPAM AND POSTS MUST BE APPROPRIATE FOR EACH INDIVIDUAL FORUM

Any post made to the wrong forum will be deleted. Any user who posts press releases, ads, or any other promotional material about a firm (whether that person works for that firm or not) will be banned and the post will be deleted. This forum is not to be used for marketing purposes.

WritersWeekly.com reserves the right to remove postings that are abusive in nature and may, at its discretion, ban partipants who display unethical behavior. If you find abusive information on this forum, please contact us at: whispersandwarnings (AT) writersweekly.com
